transcribe App and Online Editor

I’m a freelance writer who uses voice memos when conducting interviews. It used to take me hours to transcribe a recording. That was time I could have spent writing. Having a transcript gives me that time back.

I’ve been looking for this kind of technology for a long time because typing has become difficult for me. I’ve worked through many hours of audio memos, and being able to review the words instead of starting from scratch makes a real difference.

This turned my rambling voice memos into text I could use in a document. The recording had background noise, so I expected to spend some time editing. The words were there for me to organize, correct and format instead of typing everything out myself. That is a much better place to begin.

A time-saver with results I can work from. I often have to handle texts in German, English and Italian.

I used an app to transcribe a 24-minute interview with my dad about our family history. Doing it by hand would have taken hours. Now I can clean up a few misheard words and give him a written version of our conversation.

I use transcription mainly for short information videos. Having the text available to review suits the way I work.
